Unfairness

For most of the day, I am trapped in my house with no internet, no TV, and no phone. What did I do to deserve this?

It all starts when I go on the computer. I go to Gmail, and Chat for a while. Throughout the day, I play piano, play flute, and do geometry (5th grade leveled stuff, but my mom thinks it's neccesary for me to understand the stuff that I'll be learning in 8th grade. By the time I get to the part that I actually need to know for school, 8th grade would have probably started already. Wonderfulness =/). So, it's not like I'm on my butt all day.

But one day, when my dad came home, he saw that I had been on the computer for a long time during the day. He did stuff on his own computer, and the next day, my sister and I were without internet.

Of course, it's only from 9:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. but that's a whole day without internet. The whole internet is disconnected. And it's not like our computers suck, but my dad actually went onto the 'Network' for the house, and blocked internet for every computer we have. He. Purposely. Blocked. Internet. It's not only Gmail, or Google Talk, or even Meebo. I can't go onto this blog to write stuff, I can't research anything that comes to mind, I can't go onto Youtube... Think of how your life would be if your internet was gone and you were bored.

Plus (or minus, however you want to look at it), we only have 30 minutes on the TV, and if my mom caught me talking on the phone for too long, I would receive some form of punishment. Like this isn't punishing enough...

Most of you have already suggested that I go outside and play or even do something with my sister. My parents don't allow me to go outside when they're at work, but I was so desperately bored, that I actually played with my sister! We played Othello, the game we all played (for Mrs. Speelman's class) in 7th grade Algebra. Of course, I beat my sister. =) Okay, fine, Alex, you beat me the day before, but I was drowsy and wasn't paying attention!

Now, you know what I've been doing for the past week. You probably think it wouldn't be that bad. So, I have a question: How many days can you stay home alone and off the internet, TV, and phone from 9:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M? After (or if) you stay off for a week, you can tell me about how torturou-- I mean, -cough cough- pleasant it was.

  1. Some of you will wonder how I was able to publish that post. I published it at 11:14 P.M. which is at least 5 hours after the curse has been lifted!
